Federal: 30% Federal solar tax credit with no cap.

State:

  • Solar is Sales Tax Exempt in NY State
  • State-Wide Cash Incentive – NY State’s Cash Incentive for residential is $4/Watt DC. It ran out of funding but is scheduled to be patched with several million while NY comes up wiht a longer term subsidy plan.
  • 25% up to $5000 personal state income tax credit

    • City: New York City has extremely compelling incentives coupled with high electricity prices, colder weather (solar likes the cold), and a lot of flat, unshaded roofs.  With the help of Sustainable Flatbush we are hoping to kick off Brooklyn as our first borough for a 1bog campaign in New York City. The city has a property tax abatement (35% of the cost of the system exercised over 4 years) which is gravy on top of the state plan.
