1BOG Update Where We’re At

Hey 1boggers here’s an update from 1 Block Off the Grid.  We’re expanding across the country, building a volunteer network, improving our communication with you, our 1BOG community, teaching about solar, scrutinizing installers, and trying to cause the tipping point in solar. No big deal right?

So here’s where were at right now. In Los Angeles, we’ve selected REC Solar and are off to the races with our group purchase.  In the San Francisco, we’ve partnered with the SF Chamber of Commerce and groSolar to make solar affordable and easy for businesses and their employees. In San Diego, New Orleans, and the Bay Area we’ll be selecting installers for solar group purchases in the next two weeks. In Denver we put out invitations for installers to compete to be selected to serve the 1BOG community. We’re eying Phoenix, Washington DC, and Annapolis next.

We’re also going to be making some changes to our website soon, and here’s one I think is pretty neat.

Yellow Bogmen! When you install solar, the bogman on the map will turn from yellow to green.  Kalvin, one of our engineers extraordinaire, is working on getting this up and running so that when you check our the solar map everyone can see the impact the 1BOG community is having on solar adoption.

We’re got a great team at 1BOG.  We want you to know more about who we are and what we’re working on so here’s the latest on some of our team members.

Kanyi’s working with 1bog volunteers all over the country to help spread the word about solar power. He’s building momentum and growing the volunteer community. If you want to help educate your community and increase residential solar just let us know.

Brad’s thinking of ways to “1BOG” solar hot water and home performance retro fits to offer the 1BOG community a variety of products to reduce energy consumption.

I, Avra, am managing the 1BOG community to improve our communication, create more educational materials, and develop ways for you to interact with the 1BOG community and our team.

Dave is trying to keep his head above water.
